 Audio/Video Systems

The AMX Landmark System allows you to control a full range of audio and video functions from any room in your home. The AMX zone approach provides separate viewing and listening areas that are custom-tailored to your family’s unique requirements.

You can review your music library and television listings on keypads, touch screens, or your television, then make selections with the mere click of a button. You can easily create pre-programmed listening modes to suit individual tastes and situations. You can even restrict listening, viewing, volume, and distribution choices at certain stations, such as a keypad in a child’s room.

AMX multi-channel audio switchers and amplifiers provide a totally integrated solution to home audio systems, giving you tremendous flexibility in audio distribution while delivering superb-quality sound.

The AMX Television Manager not only provides another user interface with the Landmark System, it also allows you to obtain personalized Internet information services.

HVAC Systems

The AMX Landmark System can monitor and control a wide range of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system functions. The AMX zone approach allows you to custom-tailor the climate in specific areas of your home. You can easily program selectable climate modes for different personal tastes, times of day, seasons, vacation and work schedules, or other situations. It also provides a standard thermostat-controlled fail-safe backup.

Feedback and interaction are key features of the AMX HVAC system. You can monitor inside and outside air temperatures, change setpoint temperatures, alter schedules, create climate modes, and change other parameters for any HVAC zone from an LCD keypad, touchpanel, or television screen.

Security Systems

The AMX Landmark System can be used as a valuable adjunct to an existing security system to monitor a wide range of security system states and functions and carry out state-dependent commands, such as turning on the lights or dialing a phone number and sending a message when a door is opened.

The Landmark System can also use its own contact sensing devices, such as door and window contacts or motion sensors, to monitor activity throughout your entire home. You can program any event or mode to be triggered by any security device in your home.

For example, if an intruder or smoke is detected, the Landmark System could turn on certain lights and lock (or unlock) doors. As another example, whenever you leave your house and arm your security system, the Landmark System could switch to a "goodbye mode" that turns off lights, sets certain lights to go on at specified times, turns off the audio system, lowers the temperature, etc. You could even have an audio channel automatically switch to any audio zone you happen to walk into, allowing your selected music to follow you through the house. The possibilities are endless.

Internet Services

The AMX Landmark System includes integrated Internet functions, plus a special service that can provide you with automated news and information. This requires the AMX Netlinx as part of your system.

You can create personalized Internet selections to be automatically downloaded at regular intervals to the AMX Landmark System. Your favorite news, weather, sports, stock reports, or other information are immediately displayed on your television screen at the click of a button.

Intercom Systems

The AMX Landmark System provides sophisticated intercom functions that are fully integrated with AMX audio system components. Certain AMX keypads have built-in microphones that deliver high-quality sound to any or all audio zones in your home, depending on your paging selections.

Telephone Systems

The AMX Landmark System provides many important telephone communication functions, including caller ID information, as well as incoming and outgoing messaging. Caller ID information is displayed on AMX LCD keypads, touchpanels, and even on your TV screen via the AMX Television Manager.

Lighting Systems

The AMX Landmark System provides a full range of lighting control functions. Our dimmer switch and on/off switches allow you to directly control your lights or to interface with existing lighting control systems. See Compatible Systems.

You can easily program lighting modes to suit personal tastes, times of day, vacation schedules, work schedules, various activities, and other situations. Of course, you can also activate specific lighting modes by monitoring the state of certain parts of the system. For example, if your security system reports a "door open" condition, a certain lighting mode can be triggered. This is just one example of the nearly unlimited flexibility of the AMX Landmark System.

Other Controlled Systems

The power and flexibility of the AMX Landmark System allows you to monitor and control a tremendous variety of home systems and devices, going far beyond the typical range of controlled systems. For example, the Landmark system can also control:

o        Sprinkling Systems

o        Drapes and Blinds

o        Gates and Doors

o        Spas and Swimming Pools

o        Locks and Security Devices

o        Fireplaces

o        Lifts

...and many more. New capabilities are constantly being added, allowing your Landmark system to be easily expanded and updated as your needs change. To find out if AMX can satisfy your requirements, please contact us.

Compatible Systems

The AMX Landmark System is designed to provide a powerful and complete solution to all of your home automation needs, but this does not mean that it exists in a vacuum. On the contrary, the Landmark system allows you to take advantage of the most popular existing home automation technology from other companies, protecting any previous investment you may have made, and providing even more power and flexibility than ever before possible. Compatible technologies include:

o        AMX AXLink

o        Lutron

o        LiteTouch

o        AudioEase

o        Crestron

o        ELAN

o        Audio Access

o        X-10

o        CEBus

o        LonWorks

o        LonMark

o        Vantage...and others.

AMX User Interfaces

The user interface is one of the most important...and frequently overlooked...aspects of any successful home automation system. Each AMX user interface is designed to provide a different range of functions and capabilities. No matter what your needs...or your budget...AMX has a user interface that will make interacting with your home automation system easier and more efficient than ever before possible.

AMX user interfaces include a variety of keypads (with or without LCD screens and built-in microphones), color touchpanel displays, a hand-held remote control, and even your own television set, via the AMX Television Manager.

Power, reliability, and ease-of-use are designed into every AMX user interface device. Your AMX dealer can help you select the components you need for your individual requirements without draining your pocketbook.

Master Control Unit

The heart of the AMX Landmark System is the Landmark Master Control Unit (MCU), an intelligent, programmable card that resides in the AMX Card Frame. The MCU can be programmed from any PC running Windows 95 and AMX Landmark software.

The MCU communicates with a wide array of available control cards that can be installed in the card frame. Each control card is designed to carry out a specific range of tasks quickly and reliably. Up to 10 cards can be installed in each card frame.

This modular approach means that you only purchase the control cards that are required for your specific needs. This gives you maximum power and performance without having to buy something you won’t use. It also allows you to easily, quickly, and economically update your system as your needs change. Additional cardframes can be added if you are installing a very large system or expanding beyond your original system size.
